Taking Space, Making Space: Lululemon Black History Month Event Recap

Washington DC Black lululemon Ambassadors

For Black History Month lululemon passed the microphone to fitness leaders in the community who spoke authentically about their interpretation of what taking space looks like in their communities.

Radiance alongside Black DC lululemon Ambassadors Ahmed Jabali-Nash, LaBarron Burwell, Sasha Whitney, Eric Bolden, Tim Williams, Radiance Basden and Gerard Burley celebrated Black History Month at The Gathering Spot, Washington, DC.

The experience began with a seated meditation and sound bath that led us into a rich and powerful conversation led by co-founder of The Healing, Tristan Lewis. We also heard from a local therapist, D'Angelo Taylor, LPC. Throughout the event, we reflected, shared, took space and concluded our time together with lunch and a chance to connect and celebrate.

The event was a powerful display of community, reflection, and empowerment, with attendees leaving feeling uplifted and inspired. The focus on physical, mental, and social well-being reminded everyone that taking care of oneself is essential for leading a happy and fulfilling life. The celebration of Black History Month through the voices of local leaders and the connection forged between attendees made for a memorable and impactful experience.
