I AM THE DREAM 2025

I AM THE DREAM 2025 held at Union Station, Washington DC on February 2, 2025

Founded by Radiance Basden in 2023, the I AM THE DREAM event has become an annual gathering that continues to inspire hope, healing, and collective well-being. This year’s experience brought Dr. King’s message to life through breathwork, meditation, and a dynamic restorative yoga flow inspired by his iconic I Have A Dream speech. Attendees participated in guided reflections, sound baths, moving performances, and deep conversations about how inner peace drives systemic change—an empowering way to kick off Black History Month.

We achieved this by blending various elements, including meditation, yoga, journaling, panel discussions, and artistic performances, all rooted in Dr. King’s values. The event emphasized a holistic approach, highlighting the vital connection between physical, mental, and social well-being in the pursuit of justice and equity. It empowered attendees to understand that nurturing a peaceful, grounded self is key to advocating for broader social change.

The best part? Through the Black Excellence Vendors Market, I AM THE DREAM highlighted the importance of supporting local Black-owned businesses and creatives, inspiring economic empowerment and community development. This commitment aligns with Dr. King’s vision of economic equality, reminding us that investing in local enterprises is a crucial step toward building a stronger and sustainable community.
